A valuable painting left in a Goodwill donation bin fetched $11,205 in an online auction.
The painting went up for sale after Maria Rivera, a sharp-eyed Goodwill employee in Manassas, realized that the painting seemed special.
Turned out she was right: The work was by Italian painter Giovanni Battista Torriglia, a late 19th-century artist whose portraits hang in galleries around the world.
“It’s the real deal,” Rivera told News4’s Richard Jordan.

How lucky is that to have such a find.Wonferful. I regularly go around carboot events and always think one day ……………. I will find some thing of value to be truthful over many years I have found several pieces of china one of my favourite collecion things. I have many!! But they are for my own personal liking and have them on display.Not all of them of course, but I move them around. Makes me feel that “it was worthwhile buying it” Trying to convince myself?
